You probably heard a lot about the compatibility between signs of the same elements. In this article, you are going to look at another aspect of love compatibility of western astrology, the 3 qualities. You might be asking so what are the 3 qualities are how are they related to love compatibility?
The 3 qualities are:Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable. Let me start with Cardinal. Cardinal Signs are the first signs of each season. Due to them being the "pioneers" of each season, cardinal signs are restless, active, self-motivated, ambitious, and they often are the leaders in their communities.
They can be a bit domineering, but that comes part and parcel with their best qualities of being enterprising, independent, creative, spontaneous and forceful. Cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
The next quality is Fixed. Fixed Signs are very resistant to change. They are not easily distracted--they keep their hands on the steering wheel and their eyes on the road. They can be a bit stubborn or stuck in a rut, a down side of their ability to stay the course.
However, these signs are valued for their consistent, loyal, devoted, reliable and patient natures. It is true that they do hold strong opinions and at times they can be inflexible, but there are some areas in life that those traits are needed and even encouraged. Fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.
Last but not least, the Mutable quality. Mutable signs are the last signs of each season. They are highly adaptable, flexible and communicative. Throw a curve to a Mutable sign and they can turn on a dime, coming up with solutions faster than you can bat an eye.
Mutable signs are restless and embrace change. They are the most resourceful of all the signs, and thus, they make much from little. They are highly detail-oriented, but should take care not to get so wound up in tiny particulars that they lose sight of the whole. Mutable signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
Now, how does love compatibility come into the picture?
The concept works in the same way as in the elements. Signs belonging to the same quality are considered compatible. However, ultimately the elements still hold a higher precedence over love compatibility as compared to the 3 qualities.
I would advise you to first look at the 4 elements before looking at the 3 qualities.

The New Love Compatibility Formula - Does it Work For You?
Recently, I came across this interesting new love compatibility formula, which combines both western and Chinese astrology.Feeling that it might lead to more accurate love compatibility analyses, I decide to research into it.
By the end of this article, you will have learnt how the formula works, and you will be able to test it out and see if it works for you.I will also include the results of my research of this new formula, which I did on 100 happily married couples.
The objective of this article is to provide you with a new way to analyse love compatibility, and hopefully, you will be able to find the love of your life.Before you can learn and apply the formula, you need to know some basics about both Chinese astrology and western astrology.
In both Chinese astrology and western astrology, there are 12 signs.In the case of Chinese astrology, the 12 signs are represented by 12 animals.In western astrology, the 12 signs are divided into 4 groups, each group comprising of 3 signs.Each group represents an element.In western astrology, there are 4 elements, namely Air, Water, Fire and Earth.
Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are Fire signs, while Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn are Earth signs.The Air signs consist of Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.Last but not least, the Water signs are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.What you have always heard of is that signs belonging to the same element get along best.
For example, Aries and Leo are very compatible because they are both Fire signs.However, this theory is going to change when it comes to the new formula.You will understand why...

In the new formula, each sign of western astrology is actually represented by a sign from chinese astrology.The representation is as follows:

In Chinese Astrology, the cycle of production states that Metal produces Water while Wood produces Fire.Using this theory, the new formula states that the 3 Air Signs represented by Water are the most compatible with the 3 Earth Signs represented by Metal, as Metal produces Water. On the other hand, the 3 Water Signs represented by Wood, are the most compatible with the 3 Fire Signs represented by Fire, as Wood produces Fire.

Components Of A Love Compatibility Test Part 3
In the last post,you have looked at the Indian Numerology component of the love compatibility test.In this post,you will look at the Western Astrology component.
The Western Astrology component also looks at the personalities of both parties.In the usual Western Astrology love compability tests found on websites and books,they only look at the sun signs of both parties.
That is too generalised as there are so many people born under the same sun sign.You may have experienced something like this...
You might have a friend born under the sign of Virgo,but doesn't really have the personality of Virgo.For example,those born under the sign of Virgo are known to be very picky,organised and health-conscious.
But your friend might be very messy and eats a lot of junk food.For that moment,you might wonder if Western Astrology is really accurate.
There is something which many people overlook in Western Astrology.There are 2 parts to our personalities.The one that most people know is the personality from the Sun sign.If you are born under the sign of Virgo,you should have characteristics of Virgo.
The other part of our personalities is from the Moon sign.This is the part where many people overlook.But that is excusable,as most people only know about the Sun sign.In order to know your moon sign,you need to consult astrological tables.
You need to know which sign is the Moon at on that day when you were born.This is considered quite advanced for the novice.
Back to the example.This friend might be born under the sign of Virgo,but his Moon Sign might be Saggitarius or some other Air sign.By reading someone's personality from the Sun sign,the accuracy rate is about 70%.To be more accurate,you need both the Sun sign and Moon sign.
OK,let's talk about how all these comes into play in Love Compatibility.
When I look at how compatible 2 people are from a Western Astrology point of view,I will see if both their Sun and Moon signs match.
How to tell whether the signs match?It's very simple,the signs should be of the same type.For example,Earth signs should match with Earth signs,Fire signs with Fire signs and so on.
Let me list out all the signs and their types for you...
Aries,Leo and Saggitarius are Fire signs.
Taurus,Virgo and Capricorn are Earth signs.
Gemini,Libra and Aquarius are Air signs.
Cancer,Scorpio and Pisces are Water signs.
Now,besides matching with the same type of sign,you have a second choice.
For example,Earth signs should match with Earth signs,but they can also match with Water signs.On the same note,Water signs should match with Water signs,but they can also match with Earth signs.
Earth and Water signs don't go well with Fire and Air signs and vice versa.
The same goes for Fire signs.They should match with Fire signs or Air signs as their second choice.
Now,let's go for a real life example...
Let's look at this couple whether they are compatible...
Guy's Sun Sign:Virgo Gal's Sun Sign:Cancer
Guy's Moon Sign:Cancer Gal's Moon Sign:Virgo
Notice something here?The guy's sun sign and the gal's moon sign is the same.Similarly,his moon sign and her sun sign are the same.What does this show?
This is actually the best combination in the Western Astrology component of the Love Compatibility test.
Let's look at another example.Same guy,different gal.
Guy's Sun Sign:Virgo Gal's Sun Sign:Libra
Guy's Moon Sign:Cancer Gal's Moon Sign:Saggitarius
In this test,I would use the conventional way to analyse.
Looking at the Guy's Sun Sign and the Gal's Sun Sign...
Virgo is an Earth sign while Libra is an Air sign.Not really compatible.
Next,Guy's Sun Sign VS Gal's Moon Sign...
Saggitarius is a Fire sign.Not really compatible with Virgo.
Next,using the Guy's Moon Sign VS Gal's Sun Sign...
Cancer is a Water Sign,Libra is an Air Sign.Not compatible either.
Lastly,Guy's Sun Sign VS Gal's Moon Sign...
A Water Sign is not compatible with a Fire Sign.
Overall,this couple is not compatible from a Western Astrology point of view.When doing this type of compatibility test,if the couple falls under the category like the first example,you don't need to compare the signs.Immediately,you can conclude that it is the best combination.
Another case is if both parties share the same Sun and Moon sign.For example...
Guy's Sun Sign:Virgo Gal's Sun Sign:Virgo
Guy's Moon Sign:Cancer Gal's Moon Sign:Cancer
In this example,you don't have to compare their Sun and Moon Signs.
Among all 3 parts of the Love Compatibility test,this part is the least important.If a couple passes the Chinese 8 Characters component and Indian Numerology,the relationship should work out fine 80% of the time.
