Welcome to the final part of this series on practical application of Chinese astrology in your daily life to create more good luck for yourself. In this article, you will be looking at the last 4 animals of the Chinese zodiac, the Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
The Monkey is the ninth sign of the Chinese zodiac. Monkey people tend to stand out from the crowd. They have interesting personalities. These people are competitive, they love winning and have the energy to work to get what they want. They love power. If you want a Monkey to do a good job, make him the leader. If you make him a follower, there is a risk that he might leave the project half way.
Monkey people hate to be told what to do. Like Tiger people, they love to be in command and control. Though they may seem tough on the surface, deep down inside, they are quite insecure. Most Monkey people make good leaders. They are able to lead well and get things done. If they are a follower, the leader better gain their respect, if not, the Monkey will just run off and leave the job half done.
Monkey people love being the center of attention. If they are not being made the center of attention, their interest wanes and they will start getting bored easily. These people are very helpful, but they simply hate to ask for help. Ask a Monkey for help while complimenting him at the same time, you are sure to get what you want. When it comes to asking for help, he will rather suffer in silence than ask for help.
On the flip side, they tend to be argumentative and sarcastic when things don't go their way. Monkeys hate it when their ideas and plans are being opposed. If their ideas are not taken into consideration, they will just do a lousy job and call it a day. Because of their attitude, they offend others and make enemies unknowingly.
These people's lives are full of ups and downs. They are fantastic risk takers. Some of them are born gamblers. This explains why money comes and goes easily. Like the Dragon and Tiger, Monkeys hate to lose face. They are quite revengeful when it comes to making them lose face. If you want to disagree with a Monkey's point of view, you must put it in such a way that it seems that he is the one changing his point of view.
Like the real Monkey, these people are witty, intelligent and full of tricks. They love to laugh and party, at the same time, they can be mischievous. Monkey people are usually happy go lucky people, preferring to laugh their problems away.
The Monkey gets along very well with the Rat, Dragon and Snake. Monkey represents Metal. If Metal is your favorable element, hang a picture of a Monkey in your home or office to increase your good luck. Monkey combines with Rat and Dragon to form Water.
For parents whose kids' favorable element is Metal, you might want to buy "Journey To The West" cartoons for them to watch, or tell them to play the video game "Donkey Kong" from Nintendo. Monkey figures will also help to enhance their luck cycle. The Monkey hour spans from 3pm to 5pm each day, while the Monkey month is from 8th August to 7th September of each year.
The Rooster is the tenth sign of the Chinese zodiac. Speaking of personal experience, I have many good things to say about Rooster people. Rooster people are very loyal. You can always depend on them as friends. They will not betray you. Speaking of this, Lim Bo Seng was also born under the Rooster sign. Despite being tortured by the Japanese during World War II, he refused to give them any information about his comrades.
Sadly, he died in a prison in Batu Gajah in Malaysia at the age of 35 in 1944. Pretty sad, but without his sacrifice, things might have been worse for Singapore back then. Coming back to the Rooster personality, these people are very sharp and observant. Very little escapes their eyes. They tend to be very straightforward too. Sometimes, others find them very blunt. Despite their sharp tongue, these people are very soft-hearted and helpful. They will not hesitate to help those in need.
Coming to their flip side, these individuals tend to be very impatient and bossy. They love being smarter than others. At times, they might come across as being show offs. I personally like their straightforward character. You know that these people won't play games behind your back. These people don't hold grudges, they forgive and forget easily.
Because of being too detail-oriented, Rooster people come across as being very picky and fussy. True enough, in certain situations, they over analyse and slow things down. Rooster people should learn to relax more and not put too much pressure on themselves.
The Rooster gets along very well with the Ox, Snake and Dragon. Rooster represents Metal. Besides using Monkeys to increase the effect of Metal in your daily life, you can also use the Rooster to achieve the same effect. Eating chicken is one way to increase the effect of Metal. The most effective way is to eat steamed chicken instead of fried chicken.
The Rooster hour spans from 5pm to 7pm of each day, while the Rooster month is from 8th September to 7th October of each year. Paintings and figures of chickens will help to increase the effect of Metal in your daily life. For kids who need Metal, watching or playing with "Chicken Little" helps.
The eleventh sign of the Chinese zodiac is the Dog. Like their animal counterpart, Dog people make loyal friends. Because of their kind and helpful nature, they are frequently being taken advantage of. Because of this, some of them tend to be very defensive. They will "sniff" around people before they start trusting. Once you win their trust, they will always trust you.
Throughout years of experience, I noticed that the older they are, Dog people tend to be more fun loving. At a younger age, they tend to be more serious. Dog people are very emotional. During a touching movie, most of those whose eyes are wet are usually Dog people.
Dog people are very persistent. They will keep going until they get the job done. These people tend to be quite resistant to change. They prefer to stay in their comfort zone and not try out new things. Dog people tend to worry too much. They are quite expressive. You can easily read their emotions on their face. These people are never selfish. They will sacrifice their own gains to help their friends. True, a Dog may be man's best friend. A Dog person will also be your best friend.
The Dog gets along very well with the Tiger, Horse and Rabbit. Dog represents Hot Earth, just like Sheep. Dog combines with Tiger and Horse to form Fire. Dogs make very good pets for those born in Winter due to the effect of Hot Earth. The Dog hour spans from 7pm to 9pm of each day while the Dog month is from 8th October to 7th November of each year.
Now, for the last sign of the Chinese zodiac, the twelfth sign, the Pig. The Pig gives people the impression that he is stupid and lazy. Nothing could be further than the truth. Pig people are very intelligent and hardworking(if they choose to).
Most of the time, they will only choose to be hardworking at things which are relevant to them. If they refuse to do something, no one can force them. They are very stubborn people. Pig people tend to not follow advice. They have their own mind in deciding something. Although they may look weak on the surface, but they are no push over when it comes to fighting for their rights.
Pig people are peaceful folks. They prefer to live in their own world and do their own things. Their weakness is starting a project and giving up when the going gets tough. This explains why they tend to be unsuccessful in their endeavors. Another flip side of Pig people is that they love to argue for the sake of arguing. Even though their point may be irrelevant, they will still insist that they are right. If you have argued with a Pig person before, you know what I mean.
On the good side, Pig people are very friendly and polite folks. They are quite charitable when it comes to helping others. Pig people are quite generous when it comes to donations to good causes. They tend to be quite gullible when it comes to trusting people. As a result, they tend to be the victims of con men. But Pig people will just shrug it off the experience and they might repeat history again.
As their friend, you might need to be patient with them. After listening to your advice, and doing things their own way, they will come back and complain to you that they are in a bad situation. And when you ask why isn't your advice being followed, they will give all sorts of excuses, but never accepting the responsibility themselves.
Another bad point I observed about Pig people is their selfishness. They will only do things for their own gains. On the surface, they may seem nice, but they are quite selfish when it comes to their own interest. Don't be surprised if your interest is being "sacrificed". Oh yes, one more point before I conclude, there is a saying in Cantonese, it's called "Acting Like A Pig And Eating Up The Tiger". This means pretending to be innocent. Something like "A snake in the grass". Some Pig people are like that, they act innocent, but you don't know what's beneath.
The Pig gets along very well with the Rabbit, Sheep and Tiger. Pig also represents Water, like the Rat. Pig represent Water, which is favorable for those born in Summer. The Pig hour spans from 9pm to 11pm of each day while the Pig month is from 8th November to 7th December of each year. Eating pork, having piggy banks as well as pig figures around you helps to increase the effect of Water in your daily life.
I have come to the end of this series, I hope you have enjoyed reading them.

Basic Practical Applications of Chinese Astrology Part II
In the last article, you learnt about the first 4 animals of the Chinese zodiac and how you could use them to create more good luck. In this article, you will learn about the next 4 animals, the Dragon, Snake, Horse and Sheep.
The Dragon is the fifth in the Chinese zodiac. Dragon people are very changeable. They can swing between extremes. At times, they seem to be very hardworking while they have their lazy side as well. They are not very consistent.
Most of them are dreamers and always think big. They love to launch grand plans. However, sometimes, they come across as being proud and arrogant. It is part of their nature to show off. Dragon people respond very well to applause and compliments. If you require their help, just give them a chance to perform and applaud them, you will be be able to get what you want.
Although they may come across as pushy, Dragon people are quite nice inside. T hey are tough outside, but soft inside. It takes some time to get to their soft side. On the flip side, they are very impatient people and can be very demanding towards others. The other weakness is that they hate to lose face. Dragons will do anything to prevent themselves from losing face, even if it may mean making in big loss in another area.
In short, they can lose anything, but not lose face. Remember this, if you want a Dragon on your side, you mustn't make him lose face or feel small.
The Dragon gets along well with the Rat, Monkey and Rooster. Like Ox, Dragon also represents Wet Earth. It can combine with Rat and Monkey to form Water. The other 2 combinations as follows, it combines with Rooster to form Metal, and it can combine with Tiger and Rabbit to form Wood.
As mentioned before, Wet Earth can be used to reduce the effect of Fire and also to strengthen Metal. It is especially favorable to Metal people born in Summer and Spring. Although both Ox and Dragon are Wet Earth, the difference between them is their combinations with other animals to form different elements.
To increase the effect of the Dragon Wet Earth in your daily life, having paintings or figures or dragons or dinosaurs will help. For children who need to increase the effect of Wet Earth, parents might want to get them dinosaur toys or posters. The Dragon hour spans from 7am to 9am each day while the Dragon month is from 5th April to 5th May of each year.
The sixth sign of the Chinese Zodiac is the Snake. Among all the 12 animals, the Snake is the luckiest of them all. Now, I noticed something interesting. In Indian Numerology, people born under the influence of Venus (Number 6) are also considered the luckiest among all. The other interesting fact is that, in Christianity, the Number 6 is considered the devil's number. And in the garden of Eden, the devil came in the form of a serpent to tempt Eve.
Now, it doesn't mean that Snake people are related to the devil. Don't get the wrong idea. Snake people are like the real snakes. They are quiet, but very sharp and observant. You won't know what they are thinking. They are very deep thinkers and intelligent people. Snake people are very sociable and they seem to get along with everyone.
Most of them are very persistent and stubborn people. Once they set their mind to something, they will keep going until they get what they want. They are very strong believers in themselves. Snake people are very charming and make good speakers. hey have a lot of luck in investing and finances.
Snake people love to pamper themselves. Some of them have very expensive tastes. Snake women are usually very attractive, but high maintenance. Most of them marry rich men, who are able to maintain their extravagant lifestyle.
The Snake gets along very well with the Ox, Rooster and Monkey. Snake represents Fire, but it can combine with Monkey to form Water. The next combination is with Ox and Rooster to form Metal. The last combination is with Horse and Sheep to form Fire. As you can see, the Snake can combine with other animals to form a totally different element from itself.
This reminds me of a client during my beginner days. He was going through a Snake pillar in his luck cycle and Fire was his favorable element. I told him that it was going to be 5 years of good luck, since Snake represented Fire. However, he told me that I was wrong. He was going through a lot of trouble. I was puzzled, how could it be? Later then I realised that there was Monkey in his chart, which took the Fire from the Snake away. Instead of Fire, he went through 5 years of Water, which was unfavorable to him.
In order to increase the effect of Fire in your daily life, keep Snakes as pets or having snake soft toys will help. The Snake hour is from 9am to 11am daily while the Snake month, which is the first month of Summer, spans from 6th May to 5th June of each year.
The Horse is the seventh animal of the chinese zodiac. Horse people have very unique personalities. Throughout their whole lives, they would never admit defeat. They are very poor losers. In everything they do, they always want to be first.
However, when it comes to persistence, they lose out. Horse people are very impatient and not persistent. They have a very short attention span and therefore they make poor communicators. Horse people are very good in short term projects, especially those which require speed. For long term projects which require patience and lots of planning, it is better for someone else to handle them.
Horse people are fantastic risk takers. They are born adventurous, but sometimes, the risk doesn't pay off and cause them problems. When it comes to being a boss, Horse people are very serious and tend to have very high expectations of those working for them. This makes them very unpopular as a boss. Another reason why they are not popular is that they love to keep repeating themselves. They will go on and on until they get their point across.
If you have a secret, never share it with a Horse. They are very poor at keeping secrets. Sooner or later, your secret will be leaked out. Horse people are typically inquisitive. To some, they may come across as being a busybody. Never cross them, as they are quite revengeful people. They will never forget people who did wrong to them.
The Horse gets along very well with the Tiger, Dog and Sheep. Horse represents Fire, and can combine with Tiger and Dog to form Fire. The other combination with Sheep also forms Fire. In order to increase the effect of Fire in your daily life, Horse will be a better choice over Snake.
In order to increase the effect of Fire in your daily life, keeping posters of cars, horses or other vehicles will help. Models of red cars will be the most effective. For children born in Winter, give them toy cars and they will be very happy. The Horse hour spans from 11am to 1pm each day, while the Horse month is from 6th June to 6th July each year.
Now, for the last animal for today. The Sheep is the eighth animal of the Chinese Zodiac. Sheep people are one of the nicest people you will meet. They are unselfish, always willing to put others' needs above their own. They will sacrifice themselves in order to help their family members or friends, but will never take care of themselves. Sheep people are very dependable, you know that you can trust them to get things done.
On the surface, they may look very gentle and meek, but deep down inside, they are very strong willed. Sheep people are usually introverts. They tend to be quiet and stick to themselves. Most of them have hidden talents which need to be discovered. They are not very good at "marketing" themselves.
In general, Sheep people are very sensitive and pessimistic. They tend to worry too much about minor stuff which do not really affect them. A sense of security is very important to Sheep people. Most of them marry people who are stronger than them.
Sheep represents Hot Earth. Hot Earth is for helping elements in Winter to function. For example, if a Metal person is born in a Winter Earth month, he will need Hot Earth in order to strengthen his element, because cold Earth doesn't strengthen Metal.
The use of Hot Earth is like eating chili and pepper on a rainy day to prevent flu or rheumatism. In order to increase Hot Earth in your daily life, you can include lamb in your meals or keep paintings of Sheep. The Sheep hour spans from 1pm to 3pm daily while the Sheep month is from 7th July to 7th August of each year.
I have come to the end of this article. In the next article, you will look at the last 4 animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

Basic Practical Applications of Chinese Astrology Part I
This article will touch on the basics of Chinese astrology. Due to the huge amount of information, I have decided to split this article into 3 different parts. By the end of this article, you will be able to have an idea of how Chinese astrology works, as well as how you can create more good luck for yourself by applying the information.
You are probably already familiar with the 12 animals of Chinese astrology. But do you know that you can use the 12 animals to improve your luck cycle?By the end of this article, you will learn about the first 4 animals and how you can use them to create more good luck and avoid bad luck.
The very first animal of Chinese astrology is the Rat. The personalities of the male Rat and female Rat are significantly different. The male Rat is always very popular with others, a happy-go-lucky person and very adaptable. He is very generous towards friends and sometimes seem to care for friends more than his family.
Being happy-go-lucky, the male Rat tends to take things very easily. Even when disaster is upon him, he is still able to sleep in peace. Because of this, the male Rat is a loner ranger most of the time. Both group work and administrative work are not his forte.
Rats love to impress others with their street smartness, refusing to look at things in an objective way, but insisting on their own point of view. Many times, they take sudden controversial actions, which are totally out of context with the crowd. When Rat people meet with obstacles, they have a tendency to hide away and keep to themselves. Therefore, they are only suited to public relations jobs and not suited to jobs which require long term planning.
The female Rat is more enduring as compared to her male counterpart. However, once she meets an obstacle, she will retreat. Like her male counterpart, she is not very tolerant and tends to be judgmental.
The Rat gets along well with the Dragon, Monkey and Ox. There are a lot of loving marriages between people born under the signs of Rat and Ox. Most Rat men marry Ox women and their marriages usually last.
Rat represents Water, and can combine with Dragon and Monkey to form Water. The other Water combination is Pig, Rat and Ox. The Rat hour spans from 11 pm to 1 am and the Rat month is usually from 8th December to 6th January of the following year.
If you are born in Summer (6th May to 7th August) can use the Rat to improve your luck, as Water is your favorable element. You can have Mickey Mouse posters, toys or Batman figures to increase the Water element in your daily life. Keeping hamsters as pets is also a way of increasing the Water element.
The second animal of Chinese astrology is the Ox. Ox people are very stubborn and resistant to change. Most of them work in the same job or stay in the same house for their entire life. Even if they were to move house or change jobs, they will still look for a few blocks away from their current location.
Their stubbornness and resistant to change is compensated by their willingness to work very hard. Being a workaholic, they can easily work up to 18 hours per day without complaining. Ox people are very responsible and dependable. They can be depended on to complete their assigned tasks, but they tend to be too-detailed oriented and worry unnecessarily.
Ox people tend to trust others easily and as a result fall victim to con men. They tend to be over confident and make poor losers. They are also easily angered and tend to lose their cool easily.
The Ox gets along with the Snake, Rooster and Rat. Ox represents Wet Earth and can combine with Snake and Rooster to form Metal. The other combination with Rat and Pig forms Water, as mentioned earlier.
Wet Earth can be used to weaken the effect of Fire and to strengthen Metal. If you are born in Summer (6th May to 7th August) or Spring (4th February to 5th May), Wet Earth might be favorable to you, as it can weaken Fire and strengthen Metal. To increase the effect of Wet Earth in your daily life, eating beef or having figures of oxen will help. The Ox hour is from 1 am to 3 am while the Ox month is usually from 6th January to 3rd February of each year.
The third sign of Chinese astrology is the Tiger. As you probably know about the Tiger, this sign represents courage, adventure and sometimes recklessness. Most Tiger people are very successful at a young age, they are usually entrepreneurs as they thrive on risk.
Tiger people dislike being told what to do, despite the best of intentions. Even if they are employees, they won't remain an employee for long. They love to command and lead. Most of them are very capable leaders as they have the charisma to lead and inspire.
In order to succeed, Tiger people are very tenacious, they will keep going until they get what they want. Most of them tend to be quite thick-skinned, as they are not afraid of rejection. There is a saying that male Tigers love to be on the go and female Tigers love to argue. Remember, never never criticize those born under the Tiger sign. They will keep arguing with you until they win.
People born under the Tiger sign are sentimental. They will keep their belongings for many many years and refuse to throw anything away because of sentimental value. Tiger people have very high expectations of themselves and of others. At times, they may come across as being very arrogant. But due to their impatience, they tend to have a lot of ups and downs in life.
The Tiger gets along well with the Horse, Dog and Pig. Tiger represents Hot Wood and can combine with Horse and Dog to form Fire. The other combination is with Rabbit and Dragon to form Wood. Hot Wood can be used to strengthen Fire and Earth. Usually, it is favorable to those born in Autumn (8th August to 7th November) and Winter (8th November to 5th January).
To increase the effect of Hot Wood in your daily life, you can keep cats as pets, or have photos or paintings of Tigers. The Tiger hour spans from 3 am to 5 am while the Tiger month spans from 4th February to 5th March each year.
Before I end, the fourth sign in Chinese astrology is the Rabbit. Most male Rabbits tend to go with the crowd, seldom having their own opinions. When it comes to love, they tend to have multiple affairs. As the saying goes, a rabbit has 9 holes. Male Rabbits tend to love drinking soup.
The female Rabbit tends to be temperamental, but has a very kind heart. Rabbit people seek security in everything they do, they are afraid of taking risks. At the same time, they are unable to work under pressure. But they tend to be overly serious with everything. Rabbit people are very intelligent, but self-centered. Their strength lies in are diplomacy as they are able to turn bad enemies into best friends.
The Rabbit gets along well with the Sheep, Pig and Dog. Rabbit represents Wood and can combine with Sheep and Pig to form Wood. The other combination with Tiger and Dragon forms Wood, as mentioned earlier. Wood can be used to weaken Metal and strengthen Fire. Usually, it is favorable to those born in Autumn (8th August to 7th November) , as they need Wood to weaken Metal.
To increase the effect of Wood in your daily life, you can keep rabbit as pets, or wear Playboy clothing. Keeping flowers and plants will also achieve the same effect. The Rabbit hour spans from 5 am to 7 am of each day, while the Rabbit month spans from 6th March to 4th April of each year.
